Weight Loss and Different Diet Plans

There is so much talk today about people being obese and need to lose weight. Being this is the case, many doctors and nutritionist come up with many different types of weight loss plans that they claim are sure fire ways to lose weight. Here are some of the plans that have been suggested:

Atkins Diet: This is undoubtedly the most popular diet there is. You basically just eat mainly proteins and very little carbohydrates. You do not eat any processed, pre-packaged and junk foods. Instead you focus on steaks, burgers, cheese, and fish.

Carbohydrates Addict’s Diet: With this type of diet, you don’t eat carbohydrates that are bad for you. This diet is based on how the body assimilates the foods you eat. In order to lose weight you have to focus on eating equal amounts of non-starch vegetables like string beans for instance. You also eat equal amounts of protein like meat or eggs, and desserts. This you assume one a day. The other two meals consist of only protein and vegetables.

South Beach Diet: This diet was created and developed by Dr. Arthur Agatston. This diet involves you building your diet around specific foods that are allowable and that are forbidden.

Nutri System: This diet is based on the Glycemic Index. The diet includes you eating good carbohydrates and consuming only low fat foods.

The only bad part of these diets is they can do more harm than good, plus you have to exercise along with being on a diet to lose weight. Ask your doctor which diet is right for you before you take part in one.
